During her lifetime, Elizabeth amassed one of the most storied private jewelry collections in history. In 2011, pieces from her estate sold at Christie’s for over $137 million. Though they were worth an extraordinary amount, Elizabeth valued the stories behind them and the joy they brought her and others, believing that they were meant to be worn and shared, and their beauty celebrated. As she wrote in her book, “My Love Affair with Jewelry”:
